While the twins were napping I had my 5-year-old string the marshmallows on the fishing line. He loved doing this because he got to snack on marshmallows at the same time! I had him clump some of them together in groups of two or three and then also some single ones just to make the marshmallows look a little more like snow falling. Just an idea. Here is an example of what the marshmallows look like on the fishing line. Since they are sticky inside they stay in place just fine without having to tie a knot or something underneath to keep them from falling down the line.
I also purchased some little foam snowflakes from the dollar store. They come in a pack of It would be a fun project for older kids. Once we had all our strands of snow and snowflakes I hung them to the ceiling by using painters tape. Super easy!

You could use any color you want though. It might be fun to use a bright color blanket or sheet as a backdrop or you could even use wrapping paper.

In the brioche method, the float is truly hidden, tucked exactly beside the slipped visible stitch. It also lets you leverage your knowledge of basic rib to experiment with a new stitch type. This stitch structure must be maintained when shaping the fabric through increase or decreases.

Unless the shaping takes place at the edge of the fabric, all increases or decreases must be double— adding or removing a set of two stitches, both the projecting k1-below stitch and the recessed p1 stitch. Working into a stitch that has already been doubled releases the floating yarnover, so stitches may only be doubled once.
The extreme depth and three-dimensionality of the stitch requires much higher tension in the yarn than a comparable flat fabric. Yarn: Round, sturdy yarns that resist flattening or compression will create the best stitch definition.

Adding a second color creates an intriguing and beautiful fabric variation, with alternating vertical columns of color on both sides of the reversible fabric. The two colors should be switched after each row, which is easy to do when working in the round. When working a flat fabric, each row is worked twice first in the MC, then in CC before the work is turned, to maintain the position of the working yarn at the beginning of each row.
Use double-pointed needles or a circular needle so you can work each side twice before turning. Cables and color can be combined to magnificent effect as well. Intrigued by the possibilities? Pick up some needles and yarn and test the basics covered here, then tackle some of the more advanced variations.
